This policy explains what personal data FuelWatchNI processes and why.
1. Data controller
FuelWatchNI (independent project team, Northern Ireland) is the data controller for this service. For privacy questions or data rights requests, contact privacy@fuelwatchni.co.uk.
2. Data we process
- Approximate location when you choose “Use my location” to show nearby stations.
- Local device storage for app settings, dismissed notices, and saved stations.
- Any personal data you choose to include when emailing us.
3. Why we process data
We process the above data to provide app functionality, support users, improve reliability, and respond to reports.
4. Legal basis
Processing is based on legitimate interests to operate and improve the service, and consent where you voluntarily provide data (for example, location access or email submissions).
5. Retention
Device storage remains under your control and can be cleared in browser settings. Feedback and support emails are retained for up to 24 months unless a longer period is required for legal or incident-response reasons. Technical operational logs are retained for up to 90 days in normal operation.
6. Your rights
You may request access, correction, deletion, or raise objections where applicable. Contact privacy@fuelwatchni.co.uk.
